Raspberry PI OS 64 bit officially released

The RPI foundation finally officially announced the release of RPI OS 64.

It'll support

  • RPI Zero 2 W
  • RPI 3 family
  • RPI 4 family

And can be downloaded over here.

RPI OS 64's  been on Beta for years. From what I read in the past they had to get the advanced  GPU driver developed from scratch before going public. A major effort.

Anyhow. Running the Beta headless didn't require a GPU driver. That's why I am running a RPI OS 64-bit Beta system for quite some time. Never seen any glitches. It's rock solid Debian based stuff.

All the RPI audio distros out there do not have an excuse any longer for not providing you with a full 64 bit OS base.

Great developments.

Enjoy.
